    Avoid multitasking

    You might believe that by multitasking you’ll manage to get more work done but focusing on a single task at a time is a much better idea. This is the case because when you multitask, you usually end up driving yourself crazy and making more mistakes than you’d otherwise make. Therefore, what you’ll want to do is make a list of all the tasks you’re supposed to do and tackle them one by one. Of course, focus on completing those with the nearest deadlines and there’ll be no need for you to stress out or engage in multitasking.

    Don’t procrastinate

    Another thing that’s always going to hurt your productivity is procrastination. People love wasting time on distractions but if you want to do better at work, you’ll simply have to avoid doing this. The best way to make sure nothing makes you procrastinate is to eliminate all the distractions around you. So, if you like to listen to music while you work, maybe it’s time to think about turning it off or switching to classical music that can even make you more productive. You might also want to keep your smartphone away from your desk in order to avoid scrolling through posts on your Facebook for no particular reason.

    Be realistic

    Sometimes, you’ll find yourself being unable to do all of your work on time simply because you’ve set pretty unrealistic goals for yourself. Of course, the best way to make sure this doesn’t happen is to be realistic when setting objectives for your work. The key to realistic goal-setting is to constantly remind yourself what you can do and not what you’re supposed to do. We also recommend communicating your progress to your coworkers or your boss since this will allow you to stay on track of your work and get feedback that’ll keep you going.

    Use a planner

    Of course, the reason why you find yourself not being able to get all of your work done is because there’s so many things that have to be dealt with. And if you want to be able to tackle all of your tasks more efficiently, using a planner is always going to be a good idea. We recommend using a wall planner, since having one of these means there’s won’t be any confusion about what you’re supposed to do next. Moreover, every time your boss enters your office, they’ll be able to see you’re on top of everything.

    Don’t focus on your email

    The more work you do the more emails will you receive. Still, even though responding to your emails is very important, the last thing you’ll want to do is spend all of your time in the office doing this. We recommend responding only on more important mails and leave all the others for when you have enough time. Luckily, there are plenty of tools that allow you to “flag” emails as important, which means that identify the ones you should respond to immediately should be a real piece of cake.
